Performs a variety of duties in the care and maintenance of the hospital's grounds and landscaping. Maintains trees, planters, shrubs, slope separations, medians, and landscape features. Works closely with the Facilities department in maintaining sprinklers, irrigation control systems, water lines, and other support systems. Operates and maintains gardening tools, mowers, snow blowers and related equipment. Assists Facilities in the removal of snow from hospital campus and facilities.
What You'll Do:
* Responsibilities include monitoring the health of all plants and greenspaces, watering and feeding plants, trimming trees and shrubs, fertilizing, and mowing lawns, weeding gardens.
* Works with management to lay out and install new plantings and beds as required to maintain the look of the hospital campus, employee housing facilities, and other off-campus facilities.
* Keeps all walkways clear of dirt, debris, and litter. Maintains garden retaining walls and steps.
* Responsible for maintaining sprinkler system, ensuring that all are in working order, and installation of new plumbing for new sprinklers.
* Knowledgeable of native and hearty plants to the area. Knowledge of local soil and environmental factors.
* Pest control monitoring and taking action against pests and diseases.
* Performs preventative maintenance and basic repairs on gardening power tools and equipment. Services equipment by lubricating, cleaning, replacing parts, and making minor adjustments.
* Demonstrates the ability to properly use tools and devices necessary to operate and maintain the campus and equipment.
* Complete work orders that include repair, servicing, and general maintenance of hospital physical plant and equipment.

Job Information:
* Full-time, day shifts.
* Starting wage $22.24 to $26.96 based on qualifications.
