Align Technology is a global medical device company that pioneered the invisible orthodontics market with the introduction of the Invisalign system in 1999. Today, we develop innovative, technology-rich products such as Invisalign system of clear aligner treatments, the iTero scanner services to help dental professionals achieve the clinical results they expect and deliver effective, cutting-edge dental options to their patients. The Sr Product Manager, Treatment Planning will be responsible for leading Align's global Predictability Tx planning strategy, working closely to support the VP Treatment Planning and Visualization. They will be responsible for driving and championing Aligns next generation of predictability improvements working closely with our clinical, research and operations teams
Role expectations
Be the primary person responsible to drive vision, roadmap, execution and adoption of Aligns Predictability improvements
Define customer profiling and segmentation and coordinate best-practice sharing and implementation through the regional teams
Working with the VP Global Product Treatment Planning, develop clear, consistent and compelling vision and roadmap for our Predictability vertical
Spends time with business owners, external doctors and internal users
Study and be familiar with competition and competitive product
Dental/Orthodontic clinically knowledge desired but not required but will need to be learned to a high proficiency in order to developed features and products
Defines what it is we build based on insights, customer needs, industry trends and competitive landscape
Helps draft high level technical architecture with the R&D team
Interfaces with business owners in marketing, operations, IT and other functional groups
Defines technical products requirements
Leads technical product roadmap
Grooms backlog as product owner
Represents business owners & customers
Demands an aggressive timeline
Acts as agile product owner
Ambitious in reaching for a deep meaningful competitive product
Helps define User Acceptance Testing scenarios

This position will report directly to the VP, Treatment planning and will be based in San Jose California
Experience & Leadership in software product ideation, definition & management with at least 8 years of experience
Dental/Orthodontic clinically knowledge desired but not required but will need to be learned to a high proficiency
Comfort in managing matrix organized teams
Demonstrated mastery of software engineering and SDLC process
Experience with some domain related knowledge as appropriate & needed: Orthodontics, Dentistry, 3D CAD/CAM, UI/UX/Usability, Complex User Tools, Web Services, etc.
Enabler and coach of agile project management practices
Deep understanding of computer science & data processing
Exemplary technical and people leadership skills
Team player with strong ability to explain technical issues to business users
Ability to work with regional teams to drive product releases, utilization and insights
Ability to put roll out plans for your products at a global level by working with internal teams and individual regions

Education
Bachelor or Masters or PhD in Sciences or Engineering
4+ years of Software Engineering experience
2+ years of Software Product Management Experience
2+ years of 3D CAD/CAM and/or Animation Systems and/or UI/UX/Usability and/or Web Services/Cloud
2+ years of Effective Mature Agile Project Management
Deep Knowledge and Vision of the Current Evolution of some keys areas of Software Engineering & Technology, including Medical Devices, Treatment Simulation, 3D Data Representation, Global Web Systems, UI/UX Usability, Distributed Storage Systems, Enterprise Security, Advanced Networking, Map-Reduce Data Processing, SQL & NoSQL Databases, Programming Platforms like Java or JavaScript or Ruby or similar, Project Life Cycle tooling, Operating Systems like Linux or Windows or similar, etc.
Proven experience with defining and managing customer expectations using independent Development lead or hands-on engineering management roles is a plus.
Pay Transparency
If provided, base salary or wage rate ranges are the range in which Align reasonably expects to set a candidate's pay for the posted position. Actual placement depends on the individual skills and experience level of a candidate plus the total compensation and equity across team members. For other locations outside of the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically.
For Field Sales roles, the salary listed is the base pay only and does not include the applicable incentive compensation plan. A cost of living adjustment may be added to base pay for higher cost areas in the U.S.
Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
