Health Care Project Leader

This position is responsible for leading mission critical projects on behalf of Optum Health Clinical Performance and in support of the Optum Health risk adjustment program, including leading projects related to integrating Episource into the Optum Health risk adjustment program framework. The incumbent will lead and manage work to support the Episource integration roadmaps including, but not limited to, risk adjustment program alignment or rationalization, resource alignment, and tools.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads projects supporting strategies to leverage technology and partnerships to facilitate risk adjustment program integration and information sharing
  • Supports the alignment of coding initiatives through program implementation, including Concurrent Coding, Attestations, Vendor QA, and Coding QA
  • Leads projects in support of a large, multi-year program to ensure end-to-end audit readiness of the Optum Health risk adjustment program framework including integrated and non-integrated businesses
  • Provides guidance and support to Care Delivery Organizations as needed, by individual markets
  • Collaborates in the development of coding or risk adjustment tools/training aides
  • Leads multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring projects stay within budget and on track
  • Collaborates with vendors and internal subject matter experts
  • Produces executive-level dashboards and reporting

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading large, enterprise projects
  • 3+years of risk adjustment program operational, analytical, or implementation experience
  • Experience preparing executive-level materials and presenting ideas to senior leaders; strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Excel or similar data analysis and data manipulation application

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree
  • Experience interfacing with a wide variety of departments and levels across a matrix organization; experience presenting to groups as well as experience collaborating closely with senior leadership
  • Proven ability to manage at a macro level and dig deep into issues for successful resolution
  • Proven ability to lead without authority and influence others to achieve enterprise results

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
