We are looking for a client-focused and compassionate individual to join our growing team of professionals. This is a fully remote position, which means you will enjoy a great deal of freedom and autonomy, but must be highly disciplined and reliable. You must be able to work well independently with minimal supervision in a remote office/work-from-home setup. Must have Virginia Family Law experience (5 years minimum). The family law attorney will be responsible for managing cases from their inception to final resolution with the support of our legal team. Successful candidates will have excellent negotiation and drafting skills. This position does not require court appearances. While handling cases is the primary responsibility, the ideal candidate has more than just lawyering skills. Clients and prospects are dealing with an emotionally difficult time in their lives, so you must be able to empathize, show compassion, genuinely connect with various types of people, and always ensure a great client experience. Responsibilities: • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action • Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date • Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases • Conduct client meetings by phone and video conference • Multitask and work with multiple deadlines • Negotiate and draft settlement agreements Qualifications: • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Experience with all types of family law matters, but primarily divorces, including contested and uncontested divorces, custody, visitation, child support matters, division of property, spousal support, etc • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills • 5 or more years of experience handling Virginia divorce cases • Proficient with technology and remote work Compensation: $75 - $100 hourly
