Education: Bachelors degree or comparable work experience with emphasis in Health Information Management, Finance, Nursing or related field.
Experience:
- Significant experience in coding and CDM knowledge at an acute care hospital, including awareness of the pay-or mix specific to Mercy entities and the unique coding requirements based on those payors.
- Experience working with Fiscal Intermediary requirements and the ability to obtain working knowledge of all FIs utilized across Mercy entities and how the CMS regulations are interpreted.
- Three to five years health care experience.
Certification Registration: EPIC certification required within 2 years of hire date.
Other skills & Knowledge:
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and accomplish and carry out goals
- Travel required for Pre EPIC go live sites visits, EPIC implementations and follow up visits as well as travel for training and education as needed.
Qualifications preferred
- Experience with multiple EPIC applications and clinical service lines.
Certification & Registration: CPC, RHIA, RHIT, RN
